Facilities
Western Reserve Academy serves as the home of the Pioneer Basketball School. WRA recently completed an exciting $18 million renovation and expansion project. The new Murdough Athletic Center, opened in 2004, houses a 45,000-square-foot field house with a 200-meter indoor track and three full-size basketball courts, as well as all-new locker rooms, equipment room, fitness center, competition basketball court, athletic classrooms and snack bar area. In 2003, an outdoor track and stadium complex was also added, along with 10 new tennis courts and a new baseball field.

Current facilities include:

  • new field house with 4-lane indoor track and three full-size basketball courts
  • new outdoor track and stadium complex
  • new competition basketball court (plus practice court)
  • new strength and conditioning room with a full complement of new equipment
  • new 10-court tennis complex
  • a recently renovated six-lane swimming pool with a separate diving well
  • a recently renovated full-size basketball court
  • wrestling/multi-purpose room
  • 12 full-size fields for football, soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse and field hockey
  • a 3.1 mile cross-country trail
  • a paddle tennis court and warming hut

In summary, WRA has five full-size basketball courts with a total of 18 basketball hoops.
